Anthony Shane McKenzie
is a Fine Arts Teacher and Artist from the state of Texas. He was inspired to follow his dream after attending art classes taught by John Cavness at Central High School. This inspiration lead Anthony on underwater journeys and explorations of what he describes as "a world we rarely see". Much of this aquatic perspective is expressed in his art and photography. There is an element of oceanic movement in each painting, photograph, and sculpture that captures the wave-like motions of the sea.

During his employment at Aquarena Springs in Austin, TX, Anthony spent many hours underwater performing with Mermaids and Merman to entertain the National interest of many aquatic fans.  Photographs of some of his experiences and performances can be viewed online at:

Anthony began his art teaching career after graduating from Angelo State University, San Angelo, TX. Coming full circle like the waves so prominent in his artwork, the once inspired student, is now a teacher himself. He has invested two years of sharing his acquired knowledge and experience to Middle School students at Fort Bend ISD, Sugar Land, TX. The astounding accomplishment of his students and his own efforts to follow his dream was made evident when a student in his class received a national award.Anthony Shane McKenzie has received notable recognition for his many achievements in the art world throughout his life, but none is more honorable or rewarding to him as the title "dad".
